About Us

The Rainbow Play Systems of Central Illinois was started in 2001 by the owner of a similar business in Des Moines, IA.

The original building on Willow Knolls Road was built on non-developed ground with the building designed as a showroom & warehouse location with the ability to have outside displays for Rainbow Play Systems and Goalsetter Basketball Systems.

 In October 2004 the business was purchased by Carl Lathrop. Carl’s past experience was selling process instrumentation to manufacturing, process, & power plants along with gas utilities throughout Mid Central Illinois for 16 years.

Joined by his daughter Shannon Henry, after returning from California where she managed the Orange County Rescue Mission’s outreach program using her operational, procedural, and management skills, they will be celebrating the company’s 10th anniversary this year.

- Rainbow Residential Play Systems starting with the 10 year warranty Box Kits and proceeding to the Sunshine Series & above Exclusive Lifetime Warranty products.
- Goalsetter Basketball Systems
- Adventure Play Systems commercial product
- Rubberized Mulch and borders for both residential & commercial use

Our Core Services:
- Product expertise in all core products. This means we help potential buyers select the proper product for their application.
- Installation of all our core products. Our Installation Crew has been with us for 6 years.

Our Mission Statement:
Our goal is to strive for a pleasant buying experience for our customers from the time they first hear about us until the installation is complete. We then will be here for them if there are any future issues they have with our products.

Community Support:
We support the Wildlife Prairie Park, St Jude Catholic School, Center for Prevention & Abuse, Cancer Center for Healthy Living. We strive to be active in the community and giving back to our community and our customers.
